Archaeological studies in the Republic of Bashkortostan

The Institute of Archaeology A. Kh. Khalikov of the Tatarstan Academy of Sciences jointly with the Institute of Ethnological Studies of R.G. Kuzeev USC RAS conducts archaeological studies on the Bustanayevo barrow field in the Burayevo district of the Republic of Bashkortostan.

The investigations is carried out as a part of the plan on joint scientific research in 2023-2025 on the study of monuments of the Great Migration period in the Urals.

Bustanayevo barrow field was discovered in 2011. The barrows under study  were left by the population of the Kushnarenkovo archaeological culture and are dated to the end of the VI – beginning of the VII centuries AD.

Within the framework of archaeological research in the Burayevo district of the Republic of Bashkortostan, it is planned to hold a field scientific seminar “Ural-Volga region in the Early Iron Age and the Middle Ages”.

Archaeologists, researchers, students, local historians, employees of the district administration, departments of education and culture are invited to work in the seminar.
