Ekaterina Vladimirovna Pashina

Attendant of the Archaeology Museum of the Institute of Archaeology named after A. Kh. Khalikov of the Tatarstan Academy of Sciences

Ekaterina Vladimirovna Pashina (March 11, 1989, Kuznechikha village, Kuibyshevsky District of the Tatar ASSR) – historian, Candidate of Historical Sciences, expert in the history of the fortified towns of the Middle Volga region in the second half of 16th – early 18th centuries and ancient Russian tachygraphy. Ekaterina Vladimirovna graduated from the History Department of the Tatar State University of Humanities and Education in 2011 (with a specialty “history teacher” and an honours degree). She became a scholar of N.P. Munkov’s scholarship in 2009, and of V. M. Khvostov’s scholarship in 2010. In 2014 she completed the postgraduate study at the Department of Medieval History of Sh. Marjani Institute of History of the Tatarstan Academy of Sciences. In 2012 she started working at the Department of Security and Rescue Activities at the National Center for Archaeological Studies named after A. Kh. Khalikov of the Sh. Marjani Institute of History of the Tatarstan Academy of Sciences. In 2013-2014 she participated in Sviyazhsk Archaeological Expedition. Since 2014 she has worked at the Archaeology Museum of the Institute of Archaeology named after A. Kh. Khalikov of the Tatarstan Academy of Sciences. Ekaterina Vladimirovna is engaged in the development of scientific and design documentation for ensuring the preservation of cultural (archaeological) heritage sites of regional (republican) significance in the city of Kazan, and the formation of a database of scientific reports on field studies available in the Archive of the Institute of Archaeology named after A. Kh. Khalikov of the Tatarstan Academy of Sciences.

In 2018 she defended a thesis “Military, Administrative, Social and Economic Development of the Fortress Town of Tetyushi in the Last Third of 16th – First Quarter of 18th Centuries” at the Kazan (Volga Region) Federal University, with a specialty of 07.00.02 – Domestic History.

Scientific interests: history of the late Middle Ages and the Modern Period, history of fortified towns and defensive lines of the Middle Volga region in the second half of 16th – early 18th centuries, military, administrative, social and economic development of the town of Tetyushi and its county, ancient Russian tachygraphy.
