Bakhmatova Vera Nikolaevna

Research Associate of the Museum of Archaeology of the Institute of Archaeology named after A.Kh. Khalikov of the Tatarstan Academy of Sciences

In 2009 Vera Nikolaevna graduated from the Faculty of History of Vyatka State Humanities University (Kirov). In 2009-2012 she studied under a postgraduate program at the Institute of History named after Sh. Mardzhani of the Tatarstan Academy of Sciences with a speciality in “Archaeology”. In 2009-2010 she worked at the Contract Department of the Institute of History named after Sh. Mardzhani. In 2010-2014 she was Head of the Fund Department of the Museum of Archaeology of the Tatarstan Republic at the Institute of History named after Sh. Mardzhani of the Tatarstan Academy of Sciences. In 2014-2015 she worked as a Research Associate at the Medieval Archaeology Department of the Institute of Archaeology named after A.Kh. Khalikov of the Tatarstan Academy of Sciences. Since 2015 she has been a Junior Research Associate at the Museum of Archaeology of the Tatarstan Republic at the Institute of History named after Sh. Mardzhani of the Tatarstan Academy of Sciences. In 2015 Vera Nikolaevna completed an Internship in Technical and Process Analysis (using the A.A. Bobrinsky method) of archaeological ceramics on the basis of the archaeological laboratory of Samara State University of Social Sciences and Education, Samara, under the supervision of Candidate of Historical Sciences I.N. Vasilieva. During the period of 2010 to 2014, Vera Nikolaevna was the supervisor of the cameral activities of Bolgar Archaeological Expedition. Since 2015, she has participated in Samara Experimental Expedition for the Study of Ancient Pottery.

Academic interests: archaeology of Volga Bolgaria, medieval ceramics, pottery technology, interdisciplinary studies in archaeology, experimental pottery
