On June 30, 2021, the Moscow State Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation (MGIMO) hosted an annual General Meeting of the Russian Historical Society chaired by S.E. Naryshkina. The event was held in a mixed format – in person at the venue of MGIMO and online in Zoom.
The event was attended by historians, public figures, archive employees and university professors. The Institute of Archaeology named after A. Kh. Khalikov of the Tatarstan Academy of Sciences was represented by Doctor of Historical Sciences, Corresponding Member of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Tatarstan Ayrat Gabitovich Sitdikov.
The participants of the meeting summarized the results of the society’s activities over the year, discussed the prospects for the development of history education, reviewed the issues of the activity of the Russian Historical Society in relation to major anniversaries, including the 80th anniversary of the beginning of the Great Patriotic War, the 30th anniversary of modern Russian statehood, etc.
