Scientific and methodological seminar “Geoinformation technologies and non-destructive methods in archaeology” in Uzbekistan

On March 6, 2023, in Termez State University (Termez, Uzbekistan) was held the scientific and methodological seminar “Geoinformation technologies and non-destructive methods in archaeology”, organized by the Institute of Archaeology named after A.H. Khalikov of the Tatarstan Academy of Sciences, Kazan Federal University and Termez State University within the framework of the agreement on scientific cooperation.

At the opening of the event A.G. Sitdikov presented the paper “Archaeology of the Golden Horde (Ulus of Jochi)” in the studies of the Institute of Archaeology of the Tatarstan Academy of Sciences”, that introduced the latest results of studies on medieval sites. The seminar will continue its work until March 22, during which specialists from Tatarstan and Uzbekistan will exchange their experience in the use of geoinformation technologies and non-destructive methods in archaeological studies.

During this event also took place the meeting of the govering body of the Institute of Archaeology named after A.H. Khalikov of the Tatarstan Academy of Sciences and the Termez State University. As a result of constructive negotiations and fruitful exchange of views the parties agreed on further cooperation in the field of archaeological studies on a wide range of problems of multidisciplinary study of different time archaeological materials.
