Employees of the Institute of Archaeology of the Tatarstan Academy of Sciences took part in a visiting session of the Committee of the Tatarstan State Council on Education, Culture, Science and National Issues

On January 18, 2023 Kazan hosted a visiting session of the Committee of the Tatarstan State Council on Education, Culture, Science and National Issues at the Drotoyevsky House. The  session was attended by employees of the Institute of Archaeology of the Tatarstan Academy of Sciences: R.R. Khayrutdinov, Deputy Director for Research, and R.R. Sattarov, Academic Secretary.

Before the beginning of the session the participants inspected the architectural site of federal importance “Drotoyevsky House, 1837, arch. Petondi F.I.”, where restoration works have been recently completed. The priorities of the state protection of the objects of cultural heritage in the Republic of Tatarstan were discussed during the meeting.

The participants of the visiting session had an opportunity to see archeological artifacts from the collections of the Museum of Archaeology of the Institute of Archaeology named after A. H. Khalikov of the Tatarstan Academy of Sciences, revealed during 2022 excavations on the Bolgar settlement (in the Spassk district of the Republic of Tatarstan) and of the cultural layer of the historical part of Kazan.
