The collective monograph is the first experience of a comprehensive description and study of the Turkic Cossackdom, Turkic Cossacks in the service of the Russian state, communities of Ukrainian and Russian Cossacks in terms of their contacts and relations with the Turkic neighbors, representatives of Turkic peoples in the Cossack troops of the Russian Empire, and Turkic groups recognized as part of the Cossack army. The study covers a vast portion of Eurasia - the steppe area of Ukraine, the North Caucasus, the Volga region, Southern Urals, Western Siberia and the territory of Kazakhstan.
Researchers from Russia, Ukraine and Kazakhstan participated in the writing of the monograph.
