All-Russian conference on topical issues of digitalization of cultural heritage “Heritage in digital!”

On September 21, 2022, the Kazan Expo exhibition complex hosted the opening of the All-Russian scientific and practical conference on topical issues of digitalization of cultural heritage “Heritage in digital!” dedicated to the Year of cultural heritage of the peoples of Russia Federation.

The conference is an integral part of the International forum Kazan digital week 2022, organized by the Government of the Russian Federation and the Government of the Republic of Tatarstan, where one of the directions of the forum is the topic “Digital technologies in the sphere of culture”.

The conference is focused on solving problematic issues in the field of digitalization of cultural heritage, as well as developing common approaches to the introduction and use of digital technologies in matters of accounting and state protection of cultural heritage objects.

Sitdikov Airat Gabitovich made a presentation on the use of digital technologies in the preservation of the archaeological heritage. In the report, they demonstrated the results of their work (digital terrain models, three-dimensional models of archaeological heritage sites, the results of laser scanning by unmanned aerial vehicles) received with the help of advanced technologies used by specialists of the Institute of Archaeology named after A.H. Khalikov during the implementation of regional, all-Russian and international projects. The role of the use and application of the geographic information system “Tatarstan and the Tatar people сultural рeritage ” in the preservation of cultural heritage was also noted.
