Three days left until the end of exhibition «In search of ancient kingdoms…» of the Institute of Archaeology TAS
The exhibition “In search of ancient kingdoms”, organized by the Institute of Archaeology named after A.Kh.Khalikov of the Tatarstan Academy of Sciences, continues its work in Manege Exhibition Hall of the Kazan Kremlin Museum-Reserve.
The exhibition includes finds from ancient times to the present day: fossilized fragments of fossil animals that inhabited the territory of Tatarstan more than 15 thousand years ago, and remains of monumental Christian architecture lost in the 1930s.
The exhibition demonstrates unique items, found during archaeological excavations of different years at key sites of the republic. They are archaeological treasure of Tatarstan. The chronology of the exhibition covers the period from the Stone Age (XV-IX thousand years ago) to modern archaeology (early XX century), sections and themes are related to key events in the ancient, medieval and modern history of Tatarstan, the Volga region and Eastern Europe as a whole.
The exhibition is dedicated to the 10th anniversary of the Institute of Archaeology named after A.Kh. Khalikov TAS. The partners of the exhibition project are the Kazan Kremlin Museum-Reserve, Bolgar State Historical and Architectural Museum-Reserve, Bilyar State Historical, Archaeological and Natural Museum-Reserve, Island-City Sviyazhsk Museum-Reserve, Museum of Kazan Icons and Tatarstan Museum of Archaeology of the Institute of Archaeology TAS, where kept the richest historical and cultural heritage of the republic.
The exhibition can be visited until November 10, 2024, including by Pushkin Card.
