The International conference on sustainable tourism, pilgrimage and sacred heritage “People protecting monuments”
Оn October 26-28, 2022 the International conference on sacred heritage, pilgrimage and sustainable tourism “People protecting monuments” was held in the city of Turkestan (Kazakhstan), which gathered more than 400 delegates, including 60 experts from 20 countries of the world.
Specialists in the field of preservation of UNESCO World Heritage Sites shared their practical experience and discussed the most advanced methods for the preservation of world monuments that are used in Azerbaijan, Turkey, Kazakhstan, Tatarstan and Uzbekistan. The panel session was attended as a speaker by the representative of the Institute of Archaeology named after A.H. Khalikov of the Tatarstan Academy of Sciences, Doctor of Historical Sciences A.G. Sitdikov with a report “Ancient Bolgar – an object of Muslim sacred space: the experience of preservation and museumification”.
