The forum “Russia – Islamic World: KazanForum” discussed the cultural heritage of the Muslim world

On May 17, the session “Cultural heritage of the Muslim world” was held at the XV International Economic Forum “Russia – Islamic World: KazanForum 2024: current issues of international cooperation and prospects for the development of tourism”, which was organized by the Institute of Archaeology named after A.Kh. Khalikov of the Tatarstan Academy of Sciences.

Among the speakers of the session are famous scientists, businessmen, cultural workers and religious figures from Russia, the United Arab Emirates, Turkey, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan. The moderator was Fayaz Sharipovich Khuzin, chief research fellow at the Department of Medieval Archaeology of the Institute of Archaeology TAS.

The session included reports on the role of Islamic legal culture, preservation of Muslim cultural heritage and religious tourism, archeological sites of Tatarstan Muslim culture, cult architecture of Kasimov, traditions of Quran collecting in Kazan, Islamic imagery and motifs in the G. Tukai’s poetry, the festival “Oriental Bazaar” as a resource for international cultural cooperation. L.R. Syukiyainen, Abdullah Al-Shaibani, Najeeb Fadlani, Rashid Dar, A.G. Sitdikov, F.Sh. Khuzin, R.V. Abyanov, N.G. Garayeva, M.I. Ibragimov, R.A. Fattakhov and others spoke about the “Oriental Bazaar” festival as a resource for international cultural cooperation. The reports presented various cases on the preservation of historical and cultural heritage and its presentation in tourist routes. Speakers and participants of the session came to a unanimous opinion on the importance of preserving cultural heritage and further development of cultural tourism, taking into account the interests of various groups of tourists.
