In Chuvashia the outcome of the celebration of the 1100th anniversary of the adoption of Islam by the Volga Bulgaria was considered

On December 17 in the village of Shygyrdan of Batyrevo district in the Chuvash Republic was held a solemn event devoted to the closing of the year of celebration of the 1100th anniversary of adoption of Islam by the Volga Bulgaria.
The organizer of the event was the Centralized Religious Organization of the Muslim Spiritual Board of the Chuvash Republic. Head of the Spiritual Assembly of Muslims of Russia, Mufti of Chuvashia Albir hazrat Krganov, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan, Chairman of the National Council of the World Congress of Tatars Vasil Shaykhraziev, representatives of authorities of the Chuvash Republic, imams and leaders of Muslim parishes and invited guests took part in the solemn event. The Institute of Archaeology named after A.H. Khalikov of the Tatarstan Academy of Sciences was represented by R.N. Khamzin, Research Fellow of the Security Research Department.
During the event the results of the work of the Muslim Spiritual Board in the outgoing year were considered, most of them were dedicated to the historic date – the 1100th anniversary of the adoption of Islam by the Volga Bulgaria. In the course of the event the graduates of the madrasah “Gulistan” were presented with diplomas. In addition, the mosque complex “Meslima” hosted the opening of the “Museum of Islamic Culture in Chuvashia”.
