Expansion of Cooperation with Research Centers of the Republic of Uzbekistan

In the period from April 06 to April 12, a delegation of the Institute of Archaeology named after A. A.Kh. Khalikov visited the Republic of Uzbekistan. During this period, representatives of the Institute of Archaeology named after A. Kh. Khalikov was to visit three cities and hold a meeting with the employees of the representative office of the Republic of Tatarstan in Uzbekistan, including a personal meeting with the Head Aidar Akhtareev, as well as more than ten meetings aimed at developing cooperation between the Institute of Archaeology named after A. Kh. Khalikov of the Republic of Tatarstan with research centers of Uzbekistan. The delegation included the Head of the Institute A.G. Sitdikov, the Deputy Head of the Institute of Archaeology for Scientific Work R.R. Khairutdinov and Associate Professor of the Information and Analytical Department of the Institute E.E. Vorobieva.

Agreements to hold the International Archaeological School in Samarkand on September 12-25, 2022 were reached during negotiations between representatives of the Institute of Archaeology named after A. Kh. Khalikov of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Tatarstan and the management of the International Institute for Central Asian Studies and the Samarkand Institute of Archaeology of the National Center of Archaeology of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

“The main issues related to the organization of the project were discussed during the meetings, solutions were found, and its implementation stages were determined. The necessary tasks of the current stage of organizing the International Archaeological School in Samarkand have been completed, and further activities are underway in accordance with the plan,” outlined the Head of the Institute of Archaeology named after A. Kh. Khalikov of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Tatarstan Ayrat Gabitovich Sitdikov.

In addition to issues related directly to the holding of the International Archaeological School, the topics of developing interaction between the listed organizations were also discussed during the negotiations. The parties expressed interest in intensifying cooperation in the field of implementing research and educational projects. In particular, a number of joint scientific and practical conferences have been scheduled to be held in May this year at the Kazan Federal University.

Another result of the visit was the signing of an agreement on cooperation between the Institute of Archaeology named after A. Kh. Khalikov of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Tatarstan and the Samarkand Institute of Archaeology of the National Center for Archaeology of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
