The book continues a series of publications on the archaeology of Bolgar settlement (UNESCO World Heritage Site). It is dedicated to one of the most complex and understudied settlement areas - the remains of its fortifications (ramparts). The volume includes documentation on the latest studies, which facilitated the first understanding the structure and sequence of the construction of the ramparts, and reconstruction of the system of defensive structures of Bolgar in the 14th century. The publication is intended for archaeologists, fortification historians, experts in the history of Tatarstan and everyone interested in the history of the Volga region and the issues of medieval fortification.
