XI International Archaeological School in Termez finished its work
On October 5, the International youth scientific and practical conference “Interdisciplinary methods in archaeology: achievements and challenges” was held in Termez State University (Termez, Uzbekistan), which became the final event of the XI International Archaeological School.
At the conference, held in a combined format, the results of the work of 3 sections were presented – “Field conservation and restoration of archaeological objects made of ceramics and metal”, “Photogrammetry, restoration and 3D modeling of archaeological structures and architectural objects”, “Basic principles of the methodology of experimental traceological analysis” on the functions of ancient tools”, reports were heard from both participants of the school and invited specialists-archaeologists and restorers. The conference ended with the presentation of certificates.
The XI International Archaeological School in Termez was held from September 23 to October 06, 2024. 65 people attended the School: MS students, undergraduates and postgraduates, young specialists from 9 regions of Russia and 7 foreign countries – Great Britain, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Pakistan, China, Egypt.
The school was held by the financial support of the International Institute for Central Asian Studies (Uzbekistan).
