We congratulate Fayaz Sharipovich Khuzin on his birthday!
On August 1, 2025, an outstanding archaeologist, Doctor of Historical Sciences, and Corresponding Member of the Tatarstan Academy of Sciences Fayaz Sharipovich Khuzin celebrates his 74th birthday.
Throughout his career, Fayaz Sharipovich has become a leading specialist in the archaeology of Volga Bolgaria, the history of the Golden Horde, and the Kazan Khanate. He has led excavations at the ancient settlements of Bilyar, Suvar, and Juketau, as well as the archaeological expedition at the Kazan Kremlin.
He is the author of over 750 scholarly and popular science publications, including 30 books, monographs, and textbooks for schools and universities. Under his editorship, more than 60 academic anthologies have been published.
His awards include: Honored Scientist of the Republic of Tatarstan (2002), State Prize of the Republic of Tatarstan (1994), Medal “For Contribution to the Heritage of the Peoples of Russia” (2002), Badge of Honor “For Labor and Valor for the Benefit of Kazan” (2010), Gold Medal “For Achievements in Science” from the Tatarstan Academy of Sciences (2021).
