The President of the Tatarstan Academy of Sciences visited the International Archaeological School

On August 21, 2024, the President of the Tatarstan Academy of Sciences R.N. Minnikhanov, met with lecturers and students of the International Archaeological School, the administration of the Bolgar Museum-Reserve and the governing body of the Spassky district of the Republic of Tatarstan at the Bolgar State Historical and Architectural Museum-Reserve, and also held a working meeting on the repair work of the Archaeological depot of the Institute of Archaeology named after A.Kh. Khalikov of the Tatarstan Academy of Sciences.

During the visit, R.N. Minnikhanov together with the Head of the Spassky municipal district of the Republic of Tatarstan Mukhametov F.V., Vice-President of the Tatarstan Academy of Sciences Timerkhanov A.A., Deputy President of the Tatarstan Academy of Sciences Gilmutdinov D.G., Director of the Bolgar State Historical and Architectural Museum-Reserve Ziganshin R.R., as well as Director of the Institute of Archaeology named after A.Kh. Khalikov TAS Sitdikov A.G. attended a general lecture by D.V. Pezhemsky, PhD in Biology, senior research fellow at the Research Institute and Museum of Anthropology of Lomonosov Moscow State University (Moscow) on the topic “Man in the Holocene Epoch: palaeoanthropology vs palaeogenetics”.
