The journals of the Tatarstan Academy of Sciences have been recognized as the best historical periodicals in Europe!
Two journals from the Tatarstan Academy of Sciences have taken top spots in the prestigious SCImago Journal Rank 2024 international ranking among European publications.
Povolzhskaya Arkheologiya Journal (The Volga River Region Archaeology) topped the ranking among European archaeological journals (out of 94), while Arkheologiia Evraziiskikh Stepei Journal (Archaeology of the Eurasian Steppes) claimed first place in the European ranking in the “Anthropology” category (out of 81). Additionally, Arkheologiia Evraziiskikh Stepei Journal made it into the top 5 among European history journals (out of 292). These achievements confirm the high standard of Russian academic publications and their recognition within the international scholarly community.
The SCImago Journal Rank is one of the most authoritative rankings of scientific journals, assessing their influence in global research. Based on Scopus data, it evaluates not only citation counts but also the prestige of the citing publications.
According to the analysis, Povolzhskaya Arkheologiya Journal ranked 4th among all 625 Russian journals and 1st among 15 journals in the “Archaeology” subject ranking. Arkheologiia Evraziiskikh Stepei Journal secured 21st place among Russian journals across all disciplines and 1st place among anthropology journals.
