The Geopager Archaeology team has successfully completed the second phase of the Up Great «Экспедиция» challenge
From June 20 to 26, the Geopager Archaeology team, coordinated by the Institute of Archaeology named after A.Kh. Khalikov of the Tatarstan Academy of Sciences, completed a full cycle of aerial surveys as part of the second stage of the Up Great «Экспедиция» technology competition under the federal project “Perspective technologies for unmanned aerial systems”.
The expedition employed unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) equipped with a suite of sensors for the remote detection and classification of archaeological objects. The following sites were surveyed: Shnidkino archaeological assemblage (over 35 hectares), Zvyagino (Chulkovo) burial ground (magnetometric and photogrammetric surveys were conducted), and Dobryatino settlement (the final flight was completed and a full multi-sensor dataset was collected). UAV-mounted equipment included quantum magnetometers, lidar, and hyperspectral cameras.
