The book about archaeologist Alfred Khalikov was presented at the Tatarstan Academy of Sciences

On February 19, 2025, the Tatarstan Academy of Sciences hosted the presentation of a popular science book dedicated to the outstanding archaeologist Alfred Khasanovich Khalikov. The edition was published in the series “Famous personalities” with the support of the Foundation for the preservation and development of the Tatar language and culture “Zhien” and the TATNEFT charitable foundation.

The book presentation was attended by more than 80 people representing the Ministry of Culture and the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Tatarstan, Foundation for the preservation and development of the Tatar language and culture “Zhien”, the World Congress of the Tatars, libraries and museums of the republic, universities of Kazan, as well as A.Kh. Khalikov’s students.

The presentation was opened by the President of the Academy R.N. Minnikhanov. The book was presented by the author-compiler, A.Kh. Khalikov’s student, archaeologist Fayaz Khuzin and the editor-in-chief of the series Daniya Zagidullina (in Tatar and Russian). The meeting was moderated by the director of the Institute of Archaeology named after A.Kh. Khalikov TAS A.G. Sitdikov. The speakers emphasized the exceptional role of Alfred Khasanovich in the formation of the Kazan archaeological school, continuity in the scientific research of Tatarstan archaeologists, as well as his contribution to the study of the history and ethnogenesis of the peoples of the Volga-Ural region.

The director of the Bilyar Museum-Reserve Z.G. Shakirov, deputy director of the Institute of international relations, history and oriental studies of Kazan Federal University V.E. Kozlov, members of A.Kh. Khalikov’s family and representatives of the Foundation for the preservation and development of the Tatar language and culture “Zhien” warmly spoke of Alfred Khasanovich as a teacher and mentor. The book is available for reading in the libraries of Kazan and the Tatarstan Academy of Sciences.
