Albina Andreevna Khamzina

Laboratory Researcher at the Museum of Archaeology of the Institute of Archaeology named after A.Kh. Khalikov of the Tatarstan Academy of Sciences.

Albina Andreevna Khamzina (October 3, 1980, Dzhetygara, Kazakh SSR)

In 2000, she graduated from Professional Lyceum No. 9, “Economics, Accounting and Control”.

From 2003 to 2005 she worked as a laboratory assistant at the “Kazan Kremlin” archaeological expedition. In 2005, she studied at the Institute of Additional Professional Education for Specialists of the Socio-Cultural Sphere and Art under the following topic: “Scientific and Fund Work of Museums – Accounting, Study, Storage”. In 2007, she studied at the Institute of Additional Professional Education for Specialists in the Socio-Cultural Sphere and Art under the program “Museum Studies and Protection of Monuments” (diploma PP No. 827921).

In 2008, she started working as a laboratory assistant in the Funds Department of the Museum of Archaeology of the Institute of History of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Tatarstan, where she worked until 2014. In October-November 2008, she took courses for museum workers as part of the “Kremlin Readings” Scientific and Educational Decade on the basis of the “Kazan Kremlin” Museum-Reserve. Since 2014, she has worked as a laboratory researcher at the Museum of Archaeology of the Institute of Archaeology of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Tatarstan.

Her activities include compilation of field inventories of archaeological finds, cultural and chronological attribution of ceramics from the sites of Kazan, Kazan Kremlin, Town-Island of Sviyazhsk and other monuments of the Republic of Tatarstan and the neighbouring territories.

Main work topic: cameral treatment of archaeological material.

Scientific Interests: ceramics of the New Age from Kazan and Sviyazhsk.

Awards: in 2012 A.A. Khamzina was awarded a letter of appreciation from Mintimer Sharipovich Shaimiev, Councelor of President Republic of Tatarstan, for active participation in the implementation of the project for the conservation and revival of sites on the Town-Island of Sviyazhsk.
