Kyrgyzstan hosted the I Congress «History of Turkic statehood»

On September 14-15, 2023, the Congress on the history of Turkic states was held in Cholpon-Ata, Issyk-Kul region of Kyrgyzstan.

The event was held by the Turkic Academy with the support of the Ministry of Education and Science of Kyrgyzstan.

More than 50 turkologists from Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkey, Uzbekistan, Mongolia, Russia, Bulgaria, Ukraine and other countries took part in the sessions of the Congress. The Institute of Archaeology of the Tatarstan Academy of Sciences was represented by the Director of the Institute, Academician of the Tatarstan Academy of Sciences Ayrat G.Sitdikov, who presented a paper “Medieval Turkic states of Eastern Europe: origins and genesis”.

The event is aimed at activating and deepening studies on the history of the Turkic states and encouraging scientific cooperation in this field.

The sessions discussed chronologically historical events from ancient times to the present day, the political and military history of the Turkic states from tribal alliances to nomadic empires.
