Institute of Archaeology of the Tatarstan Academy of Sciences expands cooperation with research centres of Azerbaijan

On 16-17 April 2024, the leadership of the Institute of Archaeology TAS visited the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS) in Baku.

During the trip, the Director of the Institute of Archaeology TAS A.G. Sitdikov met with I.A. Habibbayli, President of ANAS, where priority and topical issues of scientific co-operation were discussed.

During the meetings with F. Guliyev, Director of the Institute of Archaeology and Anthropology ANAS, an agreement was reached to hold the Bolgar International Archaeological School in Azerbaijan in 2024 and to conduct joint field studies on the historical and archaeological heritage of Steppe Eurasia.

The parties stressed the importance of mutual exchange of scientific knowledge and experience, and agreed to expand cooperation in the field of humanitarian research on a wide range of issues.
