This publication deals with the unique historical and cultural heritage of the Tatar people - gravestones of the Chistopol first Tatar cemetery. The book describes 340 epigraphic monuments belonging to two periods of the necropolis functioning - the first half of the XIV century, and the XIХ - the first half of the XX century. The Arabic texts of epitaphs, transliterations, translations of texts into Russian are given. On the basis of the analysis of epitaph texts the main typological features of gravestones are established.

The book is addressed to scholars, teachers and all those interested in the historical and cultural heritage of the Tatar people.
