All-Russian (with international participation) scientific conference “Archaeology of medieval cities of Steppe Eurasia”

On March 3, 2025 the Tatarstan Academy of Sciences hosted the solemn opening of the All-Russian (with international participation) scientific conference “Archaeology of medieval cities of Steppe Eurasia”. The event was attended by representatives of the authorities, diplomatic corps, scientific community and students.

The opening of the conference was attended by the First Deputy Minister of Education and Science of the Republic of Tatarstan A.I. Pominov, President of the Tatarstan Academy of Sciences R.N. Minnikhanov, Deputy Chairman of the Committee for the Protection of Cultural Heritage Sites of the Republic of Tatarstan G.F. Kamaletdinova and Director General of the Margulan Institute of Archaeology of the Republic of Kazakhstan Akhan Onggaruly.

As part of the ceremonial event, new publications by the Institute of Archaeology named after A.Kh. Khalikov TAS were presented. These works are dedicated to the early history of the Tatar people and were published under the State program of the Republic of Tatarstan, “Preservation of the national identity of the Tatar people.”

The conference will last until March 5. Reports by more than 60 leading scientists representing scientific and educational centers in Russia (including Moscow, Kazan, Azov, Astrakhan, Barnaul, and others) and foreign countries (Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Mongolia) are planned.
